At the Historic Green Vault Dresden, around 3,000 masterpieces of jewellery and goldsmith’s art are presented. Sehner Precision Display Cases realised climate-controlled built-in wall display cases with precise mechanics and glazing adapted to the historic setting.
Dresden, Germany
The exhibition combines festive architecture with freely presented exhibits set against richly decorated mirror walls. In the Jewel Room, precious pieces of jewellery are staged in individual display cubes with inclined presentation surfaces. The built-in wall display cases are climate-controlled, equipped with air filters and illuminated by concealed integrated fibre-optic lighting. Electrically movable display cubes can be pulled out at a 45-degree angle on precise machine guide rails.

BAROQUE TREASURY, TECHNICALLY PRECISE
01
HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE
Display cases had to integrate harmoniously into the baroque spatial structure with mirrored walls.
02
CONSERVATION REQUIREMENTS
Sensitive jewellery and goldsmith objects required controlled climate conditions and filter technology.
03
PRECISE MECHANICS
Electrically movable display cubes required exact guidance and long-term reliability.
04
DISCREET LIGHTING
Lighting systems had to be effective while remaining invisibly integrated into the room architecture.
Challenges
01
CLIMATE-CONTROLLED BUILT-IN WALL CASES
Air filters and integrated climate units ensure stable conditions and long-term protection.
02
ELECTRICALLY GUIDED DISPLAY CUBES
Precise machine guide rails allow controlled pull-out at a 45-degree angle.
03
HISTORICALLY ADAPTED GLAZING
The glazing was visually matched to the baroque setting and technically executed to modern standards.
04
CONCEALED FIBRE-OPTIC LIGHTING
Spotlights are integrated into the ceiling frame and highlight the exhibits with precision.

Advantages
PRECISION
Millimetre-precise mechanics allow controlled movement of the display cubes and ensure stable, exact function over time.
Innovation
Climate-controlled and filtered built-in wall display cases create constant conditions for especially valuable and sensitive objects.
INTEGRATION
Technical systems were precisely integrated into the baroque architecture without disturbing the historic spatial effect.
STAGING
Concealed fibre-optic lighting and targeted light guidance emphasise materiality, fine detailing and the festive character of the treasury.
