CULTURAL HERITAGE AT THE HEART OF THE STATE LIBRARY
With Stabi Kulturwerk, a new exhibition centre was created within the historic Unter den Linden building of the Berlin State Library. Across around 1,000 m², manuscripts, books, maps, artworks and archival documents from significant collections are presented. Sehner developed 40 bespoke museum display cases that protect sensitive originals, support changing presentations and integrate precisely into the spatial dramaturgy.
04
Integration
The display cases had to fit precisely into the clear spatial dramaturgy of Stabi Kulturwerk.
03
Lighting design
Manuscripts, books and maps had to be illuminated gently while remaining clearly readable.
02
Security
Valuable collection objects demanded high burglary resistance and reliable locking technology.
